Reflections on life, failure and ultimate success.

It started slowly, and then it happened all of a sudden… in a rush that I couldn’t stave off. I felt like I was falling over the edge of a cliff that I’d never even seen. One minute I’d been walking along the path, feeling…. well, if not great about life, at least not terrible about how everything was going. The next minute it seemed the ground under me had fallen away and I was tumbling down through air and clouds and falling, falling, falling without seeming to hit bottom…

…until I did.

Hit bottom that is.

I landed like a sodden clump of dirt, hitting with a loud THUD in my own mind and feeling the air compress out of my lungs with the force of the experience. I looked up and saw only misty grey and blue swirls above me. Around me an amorphous murkiness that felt like thickness in my throat. All I could do was lay there for a while, hoping that I was simply dreaming, and that I’d wake up any minute.

I didn’t wake up from this dream, not for several months.

Let me roll it back a bit for you.
